That question led us to develop the Safe Label System® (SLS)—a groundbreaking technology designed to reduce the risk of medication errors in high-stakes environments like the operating room. Acting as a second set of eyes, SLS provides visual and audible confirmation of the medication name and concentration when a clinician scans a vial or ampoule at the point of care. It then prints a full-color, compliant label in real time—supporting safer drug preparation and helping hospitals meet Joint Commission requirements as well as ASA and ISMP guidelines.
SLS is installed in more than 16,000 ORs across 1,100 hospitals and has been used in over 281 million drug preparations. It’s helped prevent more than 2.1 million medication errors and supported over 70 million procedures1. Today, it’s a standard of care in perioperative and postoperative settings in the world’s leading hospitals.

Safe Label System aligns with ISMP Guidelines for perioperative medication safety, ensuring compliance and best practices. Our latest model, the SLS 600i, comes prewired for RFID, making it upgradeable to read/write RFID in the future—ensuring hospitals are ready as standards evolve.
