April 2025 – Houston, TX
Codonics was proud to participate in the Wild, Wild West Anesthesia Think Tank hosted by Texas Children’s Hospital—an event dedicated to advancing patient safety and innovation in the perioperative setting.
A Gathering of Industry Trailblazers
This unique forum brought together a dynamic group of clinicians, pharmacists, and healthcare technology leaders to explore new strategies that improve outcomes in pediatric anesthesia.
Our Vice President, Mike Kolberg, presented the Codonics Safe Label System®—the only FDA Class II medication safety system of its kind. He highlighted how SLS helps hospitals meet ISMP Guidelines, enables accurate, TJC-compliant syringe labeling, and improves AIMS/EMR documentation during medication administration for improved charge capture and more.
A Glimpse at the Future: RFID & Beyond
Mike also shared how Codonics is expanding the role of RFID technology in the operating room to advance medication traceability, inventory control, and waste accountability.
Attendees got a first look at emerging Codonics innovations, including future-ready solutions that will elevate OR safety and efficiency. We look forward to sharing more in the coming months but one thing is clear: RFID and smart automation will play a central role in the next generation of Codonics technologies.
Thank You to Texas Children’s
A heartfelt thanks to Gee Mathen, Dr. Lauren Lobaugh, and the entire Texas Children’s team for hosting such an inspiring, collaborative event.
Together, we’re blazing new trails in medication safety—one innovation at a time.
