Recognizing the need for greater inventory control in its operating rooms, TriHealth Good Samaritan Hospital installed “common scan” on three of their existing anesthesia dispensing carts, integrated with Codonics Safe Label System in February 2017. The Manager of Informatics and Automation, Department of Pharmacy, Howard Cobb, immediately supported common scan integration, understanding the impact inventory discrepancy was having on both pharmacy and anesthesia. 
Common scan was installed in three
 of the site’s cardiac surgery rooms and results were measured pre- and post-implementation.
