Codonics participates in U.S.-China Business Roundtable with Vice Presidents Joe Biden and Xi Jinping

February 14, 2012 -Washington, D.C.: Peter O. Botten, President and CEO, Codonics, headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, attended the U.S.-China Business Roundtable hosted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Vice President Biden and Chinese Vice President Xi were joined by US Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, Commerce Secretary John Bryson, Trade Representative Ron Kirk, US Ambassador to China Gary Locke, and 22 CEOs from the United States and China. The group convened to discuss the opportunities and challenges in the bilateral commercial relationship. The roundtable was co-hosted by the U.S.-China Business Council and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT).
“I was honored and humbled to be asked by Vice President Biden to be part of the roundtable,” said Peter Botten, Codonics. “Exports to China represent 25% of Codonics export revenues. With over a decade of installations in China, our products have been involved with tens of millions of procedures, advancing the healthcare in the People’s Republic of China.”
Codonics is focused on solutions that improve patient safety by reducing medication errors worldwide. “Our efforts with Ministry of Health agencies around the world is augmenting awareness of medication problems, introducing best practices and applicable standards, and providing solutions to medication errors even in countries where specific standards or governmental oversight is yet to exist,” stated Botten.

U.S. Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Thomas J. China’s Vice President Xi Jinping visited the United States from February 13 – 17, 2012. He has made a few other visits since his first visit to the United States in 1985, but this was his first visit as a senior leader. Vice President Biden hosted the visit, which included stops in Washington, DC, Iowa, and Los Angeles, CA.
