March 3, 2011 – Codonics Inc. received the 2011 Exporter of the Year award from ThinkGlobal Inc., publisher of Commercial News USA, the official export promotion magazine of the U.S. Department of Commerce.
Codonics has distributors in approximately 100 countries. According to the company exports play a great role in total sales, with shipments to Europe, Latin America, Australia, Japan, China, Taiwan, the Middle East, Russia, Mexico, Canada, Africa, and extensively through Asia.
“Codonics is honored to receive the 2011 Exporter of the Year Award. Our exports account for more than 70% of our sales. We have aggressive international exhibition, trade show, and seminar involvement to promote our products internationally,” said Gary Enos, Vice President, Business and Technology Integration, Codonics. “Codonics has worked with the U.S. Department of Commerce, U.S. Bureau of Industry and Security, The Office of Foreign Assets Control (“OFAC”) of the US Department of the Treasury, and U.S. Commercial Attachés at many U.S. Embassies in foreign countries to advance our export sale efforts. We are honored to be recognized for our global efforts and exporting achievements.”
Criteria on which winners were selected included the total number of documented export transactions completed in 2009, the total percentage increase in sales in 2009 compared to 2008, exports as a percentage of total sales, a company’s commitment to exporting, a company’s commitment to customer service, and a company’s innovation and originality in marketing products or services. To be eligible for the award, a company must currently be exporting from the United States. Codonics actively exports its Horizon Multi-media Imager, Virtua Medical Disc Publisher, Integrity Image Importer, and Infinity Medical Image Server product lines abroad. It has over 30,000 product installations worldwide.
Gregory Sandler, publisher of Commercial News USA, said that the success of Codonics indicates clearly how American companies can benefit from exporting. “American companies that want to grow and to expand beyond their current trading areas need to consider opportunities outside of the U.S.,” said Sandler. “World markets offer real potential for U.S. exporters.”
Commercial News USA is a catalog-style magazine that reaches more than a quarter-million readers in 176 countries worldwide. Awards were given to one U.S. company in each of 13 industry categories. Privately-held Codonics was named Exporter of the Year in the Medical Equipment category.
